Tutoring Services

Small group peer led tutoring is available for undergraduate students. AAAC Tutoring Services is course specific and is designed to provide outside-of-class discussion and practice.

Tutoring Eligibility
All AAAC tutors must provide two faculty/instructor references, have scored a B or higher in the course(s) s/he wishes to tutor (or in a higher level course within the same discipline), successfully pass the interview, attend two required tutor trainings each semester, and receive a formal evaluation.
Tutor Training
AAAC Tutors are trained in the areas of learning style preferences, college student learning theory, group facilitation skills, and tutoring strategies. Tutors are trained to facilitate discussion about questions, problems, and basic concepts as well as to facilitate practice by providing examples. Each tutor’s work is formally evaluated each semester and each tutor receives a copy of his/her formal evaluation analysis for the purposes of reflection, introspection, and areas for improvement.
Faculty/Instructor Reference
Instructions for completing and submitting a Faculty/Instructor Reference are included on the Reference Form (pdf).
